This is by far the best book I've read this year. I got drawn in so quickly and completely that I couldn't put it down and finished it in less than a day.

From the jungles of South America to the islands of the Caribbean the descriptive story telling in this had you right in the middle of all that is happening.

It's vibrant, immersive, imaginative, everything I look for in a good action-packed book. I have to say this one made me a Janet Evanovich fan for life. I can't wait to see what other tight spots Gabrielle and Rafer find themselves in next.

When I first started reading the idea of life as a recovery agent sounded fascinating, like a cross between Indiana Jones and Laura Croft, in the best possible way, throw in the fact that she's a descendant of Blackbeard and has a friendly ghost that only her grandmother can communicate with, and you have literally what is in my opinion the perfect first book of a series.

Knowing Gabriella was doing what she was to find the ring of Soloman for the reason she was, not fame or prestige but to save something important made her one of the best, most noble characters I've come across in a very long time.

Even when the cards were stacked against her, she made choices that a lot of people wouldn't have, choices that made her seem ethical, and caring while still being able to hold her own in any situation.

Every aspect of this one drew me in and kept me reading. into the early hours of the morning and I don't regret a single second of the sleep I missed because I just had to know how this one was going to end, and I wasn't disappointed.

I can't wait for the next one and in the meantime, I'll be reading some of the other series by Janet Evanovich because she is one of the most talented authors I've ever read.
