The Bookseller and the Beast

I've been reading Regency Romance since way back in 1997, I remember it like it was yesterday picking up this book from a drug store and thinking what is this wonderful world I just walked into?
This book took me right back to that feeling, some moments had the magic of Beauty and The Beast, while others pained a dark and scary picture of what life was really like for women in that period.
The grief that Garrett went through as a child combined with the stress of what Elizabeth's father put her through make for a fantastic story that will keep you not only interested but invested in our characters and how they could potentially help and heal each other.
I will say I loved the idea of a woman running a bookstore in that timeframe, trying to get people to read what was considered scandalous at the time but is now considered classic literature, and on that note can I just say if someone got me a personalized and signed copy of one of my favorite books I would do no less than swoon.
Elisabeth and Garrett are in my opinion the perfect couple they have this fantastic chemistry from the first page to the last, even when they didn't see it themselves.
After reading this book I have to say it's my favorite Regency Romance of the year so far and can I just say Eva Devon is now an auto-read author for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Entangled Publishing for providing a copy of this e-book, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
