Smoke and Spells is that rare book that makes me want to read it over and over again.

The thing I loved most about this book was the emotional roller coaster we were taken on, while fast paced the story drew you in and the characters kept you there, it was intense and immersive and hard to out down once I started it.

Now onto the world building, I could see the scenes in the forrest and at the Academy, I could almost imagine the feel of the magic described and found myself enthralled by it.

As someone that has sisters I can see the realism of the relationship between Asha and hers, secrets are often part of those relationships and her cryptic comments about Lex and the Queen kept me thinking and wondering if she really had Asha's best interests and safety at heart or if there was something deeper going on.

All in all I loved this one and can't wait to read the next one.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
