Let me start by saying that I love this book, the mystery, the murder, the mayhem, I love all of it.
Since I had the audiobook of this one let me just say that Carly Robins is masterful, her voice was the perfect choice to bring our characters to life, with impeccable tone and control it was a fantastic listening experience, one that I highly recommend if you have the opportunity.
Now on to the story, Kathryn Fairfield is recovering from tragedy, there's no other way to put it, and just when she has her daily routine down her old boss at the FBM ( the secret paranormal division of the FBI) asks a favor, one last case.
I have to say Katherine (Kit) is exactly the kind of witch I'd want to be, one loved by her family, the familiars living at the sanctuary her family has built, the ancestors that seem to know more than they should and have no trouble handing out advice, and the house itself, well castle really.
With children that are on the verge of being grown and sisters that can handle things if anything happens, Kit decides to take on this one last case, little does she know how many things will change in the course of just a few days.
With ups and downs, a shadow in the form of a crazy attractive vampire named Palmer, and more suspects than she has room for in her notebook Kit has her work cut out for her.
Thank you to NetGalley and Dreamscape Audio for providing an advance copy of this audiobook, I have voluntarily read and reviewed it and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
