Who needs enemies when you can have a friend like Anna.
I picked this up after watching the series on Netflix because I'll admit, I was curious, how does someone just invent themselves as a German Heiress??? Well Anna Sorokin-Delvy did. I found myself fascinated by the world she created for herself and for her "Friends". The things she was actually able to accomplish while terrifying are also somewhat mystifying.
Rachel and all of the others all had their issues with Anna but they kept going back into her circle, even when she owed them money, had left them completely underwater, sometimes even stranded them in foreign countries they always went back.
I want to think I would make other choices in that situation, but the reality is that when you have someone that seems to be making you the center of their world and has always been generous to a fault it's hard to believe that will ever change, and for that matter when someone is showing the kind of money Anna was why would you think it would just disappear?
Disappear it did though and then so did Anna, this book tells what seems to be an honest, insightful story of a troubled girl who needed someone to step in and take control but had everyone fooled into believing that she was ok when she was far from it.
I'm glad I read this one, it gave some new insight into the show and into the life of Anna and how she was able to keep pulling people in.
If you like books about criminal masterminds, or master manipulators this is the book for you.
