The supernatural meets the everyday world is the best way I can describe this one and I need more of it. It opens up the possibility of magic in the real world with how the two storylines intertwine.

The idea that these supernatural "beings" would take airplanes and travel normally had me rethinking every book I've ever read that included magic, why not use the human way of doing things once in a while??

Elias and Ophelia are amazing characters, both nuanced and complex while being straightforward, it's a refreshing change to have characters who just put it out there and don't ask for permission or forgiveness.

Feeling what someone else is feeling can't be easy, but Ophelia does it with strength, determination, and compassion, even when certain people (her mother) set her teeth on edge she still tries to help everyone to the best of her abilities.

Elias is a force to be reckoned with, with strength and magic he makes fighting off demons seem like childs play while growing as a character till the very end, I was rooting for him every step of the way.

Overall a really interesting read and one I would recommend to fans of both magic and the supernatural.
