There are a lot of different ways I look at books, so naturally there are a lot of ways I review books. Some draw me in, let me escape the real world, and give my heart something to sing about (even when the subject matter doesn't call for singing hearts... I'm talking to you Kerri Maniscalco) but it does, and those books will get much more time and reflection that a book that I just enjoy.
Now there's nothing wrong with a book I enjoy but don't love I just look at them differently, and most of those will get shorter less detailed reviews.
However, when the characters feel like people, the locations feel like memories and the words feel like they're speaking just to me, those are the books I will go into depth on, what am I saying some may begin to feel more like a book report than a review, but when a book draws out strong emotions, good and bad I want to share that, I want to give others the chance to experience that.
Books I don't like, well they may end up on this blog at some point, I make no promises, I try and find something good in every single book I read, after all this is in most cases years of someones life, I respect that, and while I may not like the book in itself I can appreciate the work that went into the different parts, world building, relationships, who's the killer, all of those things take time and thoughtful planning and deserve to be recognized.
