Crescent City House of Earth and Blood

Writer's picture: Ann NicholeAnn Nichole

I read this a while ago but recently went back through it and annotated it, I have to say that made me love it even more and made it easier to keep track of who was who, who was what, and who loved who.

Bryce and Danika were family, it didn't matter that Bryce was a half Fae half Human who just happened to have a king for a father and Danika was the Alpha apparent to a pack of wolves who's mother thought Bryce was the devil.

Hunt is a fallen angel, his punishment for being part of a rebellion is to be a slave, always at the whim of whoever owns him that day he never has a place he feels safe, and then he "meets" Bryce and in that moment a series of events is set into motion that will change Crescent City and their entire world forever.

Ruhn is the Crown Prince of the Fae, tortured for far to long by his Father the Autumn King, he has his own plans that definitely don't include helping his cousin/sister and Hunt solve Danikas murder.

An illegal street drug, murder, mayhem, and broken hearts, this book has it all, from slaves who are freed by Queens, to Sprites who will sacrifice everything for those she loves this book has it all.

Loss is the feel of this book, loss of freedom, loss of love, loss of family, loss of humanity for each of our characters

I'm so torn with this one, I absolutely love it, I just don't know how the next book will make any of the things that happened in this book worth it.

I will say annotating it almost tripled it's reading time but I'm so glad I did it. I can't wait to start book two in the series. I think I'll annotate that one as well.
