I will admit I've had this book for a while, and I read and loved it when I got it, but then when I got a copy of Immortality I had to reread Anatomy and I fell in love with this book all over again.
It's dark and disturbing, terrifying and creepy at times but still makes you see your humanity and question the choices you would make, for yourself, for the future, and for science.... so many possibilities going on while so much horror is in the forefront.
From the first scene, our story is set in a way that you know there's going to be a grey area between good and evil, and at times I found myself wondering which was which if something has the potential to change the world how do you decide how far is too far to go...
I absolutely love this book and as I'm typing this review I'm thinking about what it would have been like to be Hazel, to think you have choices when you really don't, to know every decision could mean your entire family's downfall, to realize that no matter how good you are you'll always be in someone's shadow but realizing, in the end, it's ok because you've known real love and he's out there waiting for you.
If you're looking for a gothic horror story that has moments of macabre, death, and salvation this is a must-read.
